The Making of Just Laugh magazine...

A long, long time ago, in the year 1999, there was a man with a vision. A man with a vision, and a considerable amount of time on his hands. He could've turned to sex, drugs and rock 'n roll, but he'd already been down the road to rock 'n roll with no avail, drugs were too expensive and sex, well, we won't even go there! So it was decided and he announced to the world, "I will create a humor magazine. I will create the greatest humor magazine ever to grace the Internet!!!"

Needless to say, the world blatently ignored this announcement, but this didn't discourage him. Enlisting the help of an old colleague, he worked night and day, searching for only the best writers and cartoonists to enlist in his project. After several months of coming up empty handed, they decided to write the bulk of the content themselves, thus eliminating any need for a contributing staff at all. Finally, January 1, 2000 came - Judgement Day, and the very first issue of their new magazine went online. Luckily, the world wasn't destroyed as previously planned and thus Just Laugh magazine was born.

It was a slow, but steady start and soon their list of affiliates was beginning to grow. Before they knew it, they had put several bi-monthly issues behind them and were feeling pretty good about the whole thing, but then tragedy struck. The phrase, "You get what you pay for..." soon became a common theme and they watched as their website became more and more difficult to even log into, let alone update. Something had to be done quickly, or they could kiss their beloved magazine goodbye. Of course, they did what most logical people would do first: take a long vacation!

But that's another story. Upon their return to reality, deep contemplation filled the air as the future of Just Laugh magazine was debated. They talked. They argued. They looked at nudie pictures on the web. Then finally after months of deliberation, they came to a conclusion: green M&Ms don't make people any hornier than any of the other colors do. They also decided that Just Laugh would continue, but some changes would have to be made. Another two months of blood, sweat and tears went by as they reconstructed the magazine from scratch, adding many new features for their reader(s). One year from its original launch date, Just Laugh magazine would once again be unveiled to the world...

So this brings us up to the present. Just Laugh now rotates on a publication schedule of three-week periods, enlisting a number of writing and artistic talents from around the world to create one of the most popular humor sites on the Internet. In addition to its magazine content, the website also hosts one of the fastest growing moderated joke databases available, as well as a wide assortment of other features to entertain visitors. A combination of opt-in mailing lists are provided to both keep readers informed of any changes that appear on the site, as well as to distribute Just Laugh's Joke of the Day, a daily mailing containing selections from the joke database. Guests are even given the opportunity to browse and purchase recommended books, cds and more from The Laugh Hole, a new store associated with Amazon.com. With new features added daily, it's no wonder that Just Laugh magazine has become 'Your Source for Humor on the Internet...'
