Taxpayers Not Really That Surprised About Gov. Christie’s $82,000 Snack Bill
Trenton, NJ (Just Laugh) – After reports circulated of New Jersey Governor Chris Christie’s spending $300,000 from his allotted expense account for food over his last five years in office, with some $82,000 alone spent on concessions during football games at MetLife Stadium alone, polls found the majority of taxpayers were actually quite accepting of the governor’s responsible use of public dollars with regards to his own sustenance and general snacking needs.
“Really, only $82,000???”questioned Red Bank resident Paul Andersen when presented with the report’s findings. “But that’s per year, right? Over five years?! That’s my boy, Christie – way to reel in the spending when your state needs you!”
“That’s actually right about in line with what I would’ve expected,” admitted Atlantic City real estate agent Janet Holdings. “A thing of nachos is what, thirteen bucks there nowadays?! $82,000 shows incredible restraint on our Governor’s part and it’s that kind of leadership that we need in Washington to really help this nation tighten its belt…”
Of those surveyed, 92% of New Jersey residents were overall pleased with Governor Christie’s five-year snacking expenses, with the remaining 8% consisting primarily of hotdog and chili cheese fry vendors who are currently regrouping to strategize new ways to maximize the governor’s snacking opportunities throughout the remainder of his second term.
