"Who knew that lost luggage would be the very least of their problems?"

Little did they know, however, that what would start as an all-expenses-paid business trip would actually become an adventure even more bizarre than what got them there in the first place...

Much to the success of last year's creative collaboration, A Tale of Two Summers..., we've opted to resume the madness this year to follow the continuing adventures of Jane and Julia as they spread their special brand of mayhem once again, this time on a global scale! For those who missed our first installment, the story was written much to the same tune that we used to craft those creative stories back in high school, where a notebook would start in one corner of the room and work its way through the crowd, with each person adding his or her own take on it along the way. Of course, our version went just a tad bit differently - as our little, electronic notebook passed from one person to another, the next writer only got to read the portion of the story which came directly before them, somewhat limiting their knowledge of how the story had progressed. Sure, it does make writing your section of the tale a bit more of a challenge, but we think that it's all worth the effort in the end! The previous story eventually grew to become one of the largest collaborative efforts on the 'net, bringing together a total of 25 writers to tell the tale, and this year we'd like to surpass, no double that figure and we need your help!

This story takes place almost immediately following our first installment, A Tale of Two Summers... Our heroines, Jane and Julia, having just thwarted the embezzlement plans of their boss, Jim Gosen, now find themselves on a plane to Bermuda where their trip is about to take a very interesting turn! As not to give away too many details in the story too soon, our tale will unfold much like its predecessor - each writer will be given the chapter which falls directly before their own as source material, leaving their own job to tell the next section as they see it. Writers are encouraged to work in any details from the first story that they'd like, although this is not at all required. Just keep in mind that this adventure originally began as a vacation for the girls' hard work in the first story, so a completely straight-forward plot is by no means the most important factor in the story...not that it was last time either, though!

In addition to using the previous chapters, however, we're also introducing a new element into the story that should give the writers a little more control over how they get to see the plot develop. After completing their chapter, each writer will also be encouraged to create a set of their own guidelines which the next writer will need to work into their chapter. They will be able to choose a single detail for each of the basic W's (who, what, when, where & why) that the next writer will then need to consider. For example, one might choose Abe Lincoln, a moldy piece of cheese, and Paris, which could lead to Jane's discovery of the Head of Abraham Lincoln being hidden in a cheese factory in Paris...or something completely different! Hopefully this will give each writer one final chance to point the story in their preferred direction before turning it over to another, so it should be very interesting to see how this works out.

We also got several requests last year from artists who had wanted to participate, but weren't too confident when it came to the writing aspect of the story-telling process, so this year we're also throwing in another twist to include them as well! As the story progresses, the completed chapters will be handed over to the artists, who will then give us a pictorial-view of what's happening in said chapter. The artist will have the option to either create a single image to run at the head of the chapter, or a series of frames to be intertwined throughout the story. As each chapter's text will be unique from the person who wrote it, so will each piece of artwork!

So does this sound like something that you'd like to be a part of???

Simply fill out the form below and one of our editors will get back with you shortly! We'd like to start writing sometime early in May, but this will actually be a quite long process and end up winding through the summer months, too, so for those of you with busy schedules right now, don't let that discourage you! Just be sure to note it in the appropriate box...
