| Sept. 17, 2001 - "That penis-in-the-pie gag just had everyone
coming back for more," explains Jason Biggs, who personally spent many
long hours perfecting the signature scene from the first American Pie
movie.
"I mean, come on! The last one featured apple pie, so what's in
store from the next in the series? Cherry? Lemon-Meringue?
Maybe even a tort or crepe of some sort - you'll have to watch to find
out!" Even if there wasn't a single dessert-related romantic
encounter in this episode, it more than made up for the loss in other areas...
If public expectation alone was used to base the success of this movie,
American
Pie 2 easily dominated the silver screen this summer with the largest
opening ever for an R-rated comedy, ranking in a whoping $41.5 million
the first weekend! These kids could stop right now and be
pretty well off for the rest of their lives, and although there are folks
out there who think they should do just that, the polls have proven that
now a concept of warm, apple pie is more of an American icon than
ever!
