Santa to Consider More Rum-Oriented Presents for 2015

Bridgetown, Barbados (Just Laugh) – As the patron saint of leaving presents underneath perfectly-luminated holiday trees enjoys the final weeks of his well-deserved summer vacation in the tropics before heading back up north to begin preparations for another year of the very best holiday that mankind has ever known, sources report that influences from his local hideaway on the island of Barbados may very well find their way under the tree this year as Santa Claus has taken a particular liking to the comforts of the smooth, Caribbean rum that the southern islands are known for…

“The staples are pretty much a given,” explained one three-foot, elven source who wished to remain unnamed. “Think rum cakes in place of fruitcakes, rum mixers for stocking stuffers, maybe an old-timey, holiday dispenser barrel for that teenager in the family who isn’t technically old enough to drink himself just yet, but let’s not kid ourselves…”

“Those on Santa’s nice list might also find a special bottle of Santa’s own aged dark rum, Chestnuts Eve, that the man in red has been quietly working on during his downtime here – it’s got a great flavor that really helps to tune out those nutty relatives during your big, family get-togethers at Christmastime, if you know what I mean!”

“And if I can let you in on one last secret,” our source hinted, “those frosted Christmas cookies from the kids are cute and all, but Mr. S definitely has a hankering for a good, quality rum ball as well if you want to slide a couple onto the plate after the kids head off to bed.”

“Just don’t go skimping on the rum just because you’re using it for baking – because Santa always knows!!!”
